rDNS (Reverse DNS)

rDNS points a host name to an IP address. This is important in regards to an IP that is being used for a mail server. Many mail server admins will not accept email from IPs which does not have a reverse DNS record.

To modify rDNS you must log in to the Customer Care section of our website.  Select Manage DNS from the Manage Resources option on the left hand column.  rDNS records are located at the bottom of the page. Select the ID next to the NetBlock you wish you modify. All IPs in your block will be listed on the left hand side.  Enter the host name under the PTR Hostname field and select update.

PLEASE NOTE: We can only provide rDNS for those IP addressed which are delegated to Net Access Corp. If you need an rDNS record created for an IP that is not delegated to Net Access you must do so with the organization which the IP is delegated to. You can search through the American Registry for Internet Numbers database by visiting www.arin.net.
