Win 98 / ME PPPOE DSLYou will need the following installed on your computer before you set up the DSL connection:
Windows 98 or ME (Our PPPOE DSL does not support Windows 95)
Dial-up Networking
An Ethernet Card or a USB jack
NOTE: If you are using Windows 98 second edition (SE), you will need to install a patch. If you are unsure what version of Windows 98 you have, click on the start button. On the left hand side of the start menu it will say if you have Windows SE. If you do have Windows SE, this patch can be obtained on the RASPPPOE disk which has been included with your DSL modem. Double click on My Computer and then double click on the A drive. You will see a file named 243199us8.exe. Double click on it and run through the install. You will then be prompted to restart your computer. Do so before proceeding.
Step 1:
Click on Start => Settings => Control Panel. Double click on your Network icon.
Step 2:
Insert the floppy labeled RASPPPOE and click on the Add button, then select network protocol. Click on the 'have disk' button. Type in A: under the file path field and click ok. Select PPP over Ethernet and then click the ok button.
Step 3:
Click Ok to close out of Network. You will then be prompted to restart your computer. Remove the floppy disk and click ok to restart.
Step 4:
When the computer restarts, click on the Start button and then click on RUN. Type raspppoe and click on the ok or open button. You will see a dialogue box that says something about the "Zyxel 600 prestige". Click on Create a Dial-up Connection for the selected Adapter.
Step 5:
You will now have a dial-up shortcut icon on your desktop. Double click on the shortcut icon and type in your username and password. Be sure to include @nac.net after your username. Click connect. If you are unable to establish a DSL connection contact tech support at <%=sCompanyPhoneTAC%>
