Windows 2000 Dial-Up Networking PropertiesTo get into Network and Dialup Connections click on Start => Settings => Network and Dialup Connections. Inside Network and Dialup Connections you will see Net Access. Double click on Net Access (That's right! The days of Right clicking over the connection icon are over).
Step 1
On the connect to screen click on Properties.
Step 2
On the General tab you will have to specify a modem and dialup number.
Step 3
If you would like to specify redialing options then click on the Options tab.
Step 4
Nothing needs to be configured on the security tab.
Step 5
Click on the settings button under dial-up server. Make sure that enable software compression is checked. Click ok.
Step 6
Highlight TCP/IP and click on Properties. Make sure our primary and secondary DNS servers are entered and then click on the advanced button. .
Step 7
Make sure default gateway on remote network and IP header compression are checked.
Step 8
Both DNS servers should be entered. Nothing needs to be modified under WINS or Options. Click on Ok twice.
